Update Overview

The update adds the Black-Fly craft from TAITO's classic arcade shooting game, Metal Black. It can be unlocked with tokens collected by playing the game and used as a ship in the game. The update also includes achievements relating to the Black-Fly.

Black-Fly

In addition, new enemies have been added to the Challenge Mode, where stages are randomly generated with each play, providing greater variation to the mode. Finally, the presentation has been enhanced and the app icon has been changed.

The game has also been updated to address player requests so that the Home Bar requires two touches to activate, preventing unintentional app switches. The app will continue to receive regular updates with new ships and stages, so please look forward to new evolutions in the future.

*Challenge Mode is unlocked via evolution during the game and added to the Menu in the game.

Introducing The Black-Fly

The Black-Fly features an interpretation of the ‘energy interference’ attack, which was the standout feature of the original game, Metal Black.

The Black-Fly’s forward-firing beam causes energy interference when it comes into contact with some enemy attacks, such as the ultra-thick laser, and an energy ball is generated. In addition to damaging the enemy, the energy ball grows in size the more enemy bullets come into contact with it, and is launched when it grows to its maximum size or when the Black-Fly’s beam is no longer touching the energy ball.

About SPACE INVADERS Infinity Gene Evolve

SPACE INVADERS Infinity Gene is a shooting game that first appeared as a feature phone application in 2008, eventually evolving into a game for home consoles, winning various awards along the way.
It sets the scene with a recreation of the original SPACE INVADERS, which evolves around the player as they progress, but the more you play, the more the game itself evolves, transforming into a cutting-edge 3D shooter with visuals, sound and a game system to match. The feature of this game is that you can experience the history of the genre in a single game. Furthermore, the more you play and score, the more you evolve, with more than 100 levels in terms of features, such as acquiring new ships, expanding the range of movement and strategy, so that even beginners can experience the exhilaration of defeating the enemy with overwhelming firepower. Many ships from TAITO’s classic shooting games, such as those from Darius, Night Striker and RayStorm, also make guest appearances in the game, adding even more variety in play style.
The Apple Arcade version adds various new advancements, such as the powerful ‘Burst’ counterattack, ‘Style Change’ that allows you to instantly switch between a traditional shooting game and a bullet-hell shooter, and also additional main stages, offering more than 160 in total.
